Location

Adityapur Industrial Area is situated in the district of Seraikela Kharsawan in the state of Jharkhand. It is located at a distance of about 8 km from Tatanagar railway station and 8 km from Jamshedpur Airport. Ranchi Airport, which is about 130 km from Adityapur/Jamshedpur, is linked with metropolitan cities by regular flights of Air India, Kingfisher and other airlines. It also has direct train linkage with metropolitan cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata & Chennai. Countrywide direct dialing, telex facility, cellular phone services and Internet facilities are also available.


Total Controlled Area

The total controlled area under Adityapur Industrial Area Development Authority is about 53 square miles spread over 83 revenue villages. The controlled area includes Industrial, Residential, Commercial and Institutional area with good and adequate civic amenities.


Area of Adityapur Industrial Area

The Adityapur Industrial Area at present is spread over about 3500 acres of land in a stretch of about 8 km on the southern part of the Tata-Chakradharpur state highway. The entire industrial area is broadly divided into seven phases with each phase having direct approach from the state highway. AIADA is in the process of acquiring more land to the extent of about 2000 acres for setting up industrial units in years to come.


Road Network

Adityapur Industrial Area has a well planned road network of about 45 km with adequate drainage system. The road width varies between 40 feet to 150 feet.


Water Supply

The water supply to the industrial units in sufficient quantity is done through well planned water supply system through Sitarampur reservoir with necessary pumping station, overhead water towers and network of pipelines spread over all the phases of industrial area. Present requirement of 5 MGD (22.7 MLD) is being fulfilled by Sitarampur reservoir. Augmentation to additional 25 MGD (113.6 MLD) has been planned to have adequate water supply for years to come.

Water is one of the most important inputs for industries. Hence Deptt. of Industries, GOJ has taken up projects for rehabilitating and augmenting the water supply facilities from the present level of 5 MGD to 25 MGD up to year 2020. IL&FS Infrastructure Development Corporation (IIDC), New Delhi is working as the project consultants for this scheme. Span Consultant Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata has prepared the system status report for the existing water supply facilities suggesting ways and means for rehabilitating and augmenting the system capacity in phases.

A special purpose company namely Adityapur Utilities Ltd. is being registered to undertake the responsibility for rehabilitating and augmenting the present system over a horizon period of 15 years on Private - Public - Partnership format with a private party participation as a Management Contractor.


Power Supply

Uninterrupted Power supply is made to the Industrial units from 140 MW grid sub-station of JSEB located in the Industrial area. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. has also installed 400/220 KV grid sub-station having transformer capacity of 315 x 2 MVA for adequate power supply to Industries even for future requirement. Four sub-stations of 33/11 KV have been set up in the Industrial area to cater to the need of power as per requirement. It is expected that the private sector will play a role in supply and distribution of power in this region in the near future.


Investment in Adityapur Industrial Area

The total investment in Adityapur Industrial Area is to the tune of Rs.3000 crores, which is increasing every year, with large no.of units being set up.


Turn-over

Average annual turn-over of the Adityapur Industrial Area is to the tune of about Rs.3,500 crores.


Availability of Technical personnel and technical training institutes

There is no dearth of technical expertise in and around Adityapur Industrial Area - with thewell equipped National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML), sophisticated Indo Danish Tool Room & Training Centre (IDTR), National Institute of Technology, Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Polytechnics and numerous private training outfits providing vocational courses in subjects ranging from technician level work like welder & fitter, training in design & drafting including CAD, IT education, etc.
